Our History
TBG was established in 2006 by David Solomon Bassiouni, Dr. David S. Bassiouni, and senior leaders from the public and private sector. We had one mission in mind — to solve complex, global challenges and interconnected Economic and Social Development issues.
Seizing the gaps between traditional Development, Management Consulting and Private Investment firms, we saw an opportunity to create a “hybrid” firm that would be as equally proficient in Good Governance and Humanitarian Affairs as Foreign Direct Investment and Private Sector Development.
Since our founding, we have undertaken and successfully completed projects all over the world particularly Africa, MENA, Asia and also the Americas, the UK and Europe. We have advised and implemented solutions for a wide variety of clients ranging from UN agencies/programmes, INGOS, global institutions and governments to corporations, SMBs/SMEs and startups.
Our Mission & SDG Commitment
TBG’s mission is centered around the Sustainable Development Goals, Sustainability and Circularity. We create innovative solutions that empower our clients and positively impact the communities in which they operate in order to improve the quality of life.
As a company founded by former UN officials, TBG has been rooted in the SDGs since its inception. As such, we adopted an impact-focused business model and seeks to engage clients and projects that contribute to the firm’s mission.
The 17 SDGs and 169 targets are an element of the broader 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that provides a means for policy implementation and capacity building with a focus on empowerment and inclusivity.
The SDGs and dedication to the 2030 Agenda provide a general framework for addressing global challenges and guide TBG’s efforts to assist clients and communities to adopt sustainable solutions for, as well as mitigate the issues related to social development and inclusion, poverty and livelihoods, gender parity and the environment.
